Health care system

The health and medical care system in Sweden is structured so that everyone can benefit from the treatment they need, including asylum seekers. Protection against high health care costs means that, for a period of 12 months, each patient only pays 1.100 Swedish kroners (SEK) maximum for his/her own medical care. For costs over this cap, treatment is free.
